Excellence isn't found in the big, obvious tasks. It's in the tiny details someone might not even realise are bothering them — until they're fixed.
— Shivangi Sharma
Before Pinch
I worked in the hospitality industry as a hotelier for six years and have been with a concierge service for nearly a year. This transition was driven by my desire to take on new challenges and explore a different facet of the industry.
How I work
I have a keen interest in home organization and beautification, which feels very personal to me. Turning this passion into a part of my professional journey truly feels like a win.
My edge
I believe my real strength lies in understanding what isn’t explicitly said. With years of experience in hospitality, I’ve learned that true excellence comes from noticing the small details that often go unnoticed but make a big difference once addressed. I don’t see a house as just a set of tasks, but as someone’s personal space. My aim is to identify and resolve minor issues before they turn into bigger problems, so that clients feel a sense of ease and comfort the moment they walk in.
A moment that matters
I once looked after a guest who was traveling alone on her birthday. She hadn’t mentioned it, but I’d noticed the date on her ID. The next morning, I surprised her with a small bouquet and a cake at breakfast. The look on her face wasn't just surprise, it was the relief of being 'seen' in a strange city. That moment taught me that my work isn't about logistics; it’s about the warmth of being remembered.
Something people don't see
Most people think home management is just a checklist of chores—cleaning, grocery shopping, or fixing a leak. But what really goes into it is the thinking behind the doing. It’s the mental energy of remembering that the RO filter is due for service next week, knowing exactly how a client likes their coffee staged, or noticing a lightbulb is about to flicker before it actually goes out. It’s about taking that 'mental load' off the family so they don't have to manage the managers. When we do our job well, the home just works and that seamlessness takes a lot of invisible, quiet coordination behind the scenes.
Off the clock
Waking up, starting the day with hot water and a desi breakfast, then curling up in bed with a good book. Enjoying a cozy lunch of pasta and wine while watching comfort shows like The Office, Modern Family, and Friends. Taking a relaxing nap, ending the day with mutton for dinner, and chatting endlessly with my husband about how tiring the week was.
